Martin, the man responsible for BigJimny.com, arranged for a Jimny-only weekend at Wagtail. The event, named BigJimny@Wagtail, began on the Saturday evening when we arrived to setup camp.
We were the first there and were told to expect others by the landowner, but by 6pm I had given up expecting anyone else to arrive. I had to summarise that anyone else who was coming was unable to get their camping panties unbunched and subsequently would not be prepared for a night away from home, and so we would brave it alone. Like the hardened adventurers that we are, and we were not, by any stretch of the imagination, in the tent by 9pm and asleep by ten.
After surviving the wilds of Wagtail at night, the day brought forth a more ragged collection of metal beasts into the fray.
2007 was the last time we were at Wagtail, and then it was in the SJ410. The poor SJ had to be pulled out of the canal by two other vehicles. This time, four years later, we would not be going in the canal. No matter how much I wanted to.
Not allowed in the canal? OK then, how about a Jimny sized hole filled in with the same stuff the canal is.
It'll do I guess. For now.
Heather doesn't always scream like she does on the Seesaw. Heather only does it only if the car is moving on anything that isn't flat and smooth.
A fantastic weekend driving around and the first time in six months the Jimny has been out, many thanks to Martin at BigJimny.com for arranging the event, and further thanks to everyone who came and made it an enjoyable day.
