Not wanting to waste time, and with the Jimny back working again after the t-case surgery, there was only one right thing to do; take her out for a spin.
Weston Coyney (Hardiwick Quarry) lies to the east of Stoke. We've never been to the site before, silly realy as it is less than an hour from where we live. We're meeting Chris, a fellow Jimny driver from BigJimny.com, & Adam his son, at the gate when the site opens at 1030.

Heather is a nervous passenger, and when the car tilts, or in this case, goes down a 5 foot drop she gets a bit scared. Altought it doesn't look deep its only when you can see Chris is his blue Jimny in the same hole that you can get a sense of its depth. You'll no doubt notice the surrounding ground level is inline with his roof. Heather took the two photos after she had got out of the Jimny and calmed down a bit, by that time I had moved the car forward and we were no longer nose-down in the hole.

Deja Vu? Thats right folks, thats a snapped radius arm. On closer inspection it can be seen that the opposite side is begining to crack too. That spells the end of today's play time...

Foolishly I didn't have AA or RAC cover and so we were stuck with the problem of getting home. Luckily Chris had some ratchet straps.....
Pulling the axle back against the failed arm seemed to hold it together. We had 30 miles to drive home, we stopped periodicly to see how things were getting along. We managed to get home some 2 hours after leaving, the straps still holding the arm inplace.
Weston Coyney is a great site. Its a lot larger than I was expecting, and has some very exciting routes. We will return at a later date once the Jimny is back on the road. If anyone is interested in going, Fundays are on the last Sunday of each month. For more information contact James on 07966412028.
