Well its 2012, if you hadn't noticed, and what a better way then to usher in the new year with a drive around The Peak District. We planned to meet Andy in another Jimny, at 11am in Baslow car park.

Moving out from Baslow and heading west as usual up towards Deep Rake. There seemed to be an unnatural amount of people around on the road, you'd think they would have better things to be doing. It transpires that they did, and it turned out to be rambling. There was the usual collection of grumpies en route, but mostly people were pleasant.

There has been some repair and servicing done to the lanes at Dale Farm & Houndkirk Moor. The unfortunate side effect of this is that they no longer offer any challenge to the 4x4 driver, but Houndkirk Moor is still worth a drive if you like a view.

We'll be back up this way again near the end of January for a night drive.....
